What is the Families Voices Forum?

A Regional Group led By Families and Friends Bereaved by Suicide

A Forum that Aims to Build the Profile of those Bereaved by Suicide

Families Voices Forum will Proactively address the issue of Stigma which Surrounds the area of Suicide

We will hold Government Departments, Agencies and Organisations to Account Regarding their Responsibilities for the Implementation of Protect Life: the Northern Ireland Suicide Strategy.

Recent Successes

Within the last year the Families Voices Forum have made a number of positive progressions including:

As we grow people are becoming more aware of who we are and what we aim to do.

We have held several successful development days / annual meetings with over 70 families / individuals attending the events.

We continue to work on our governance to ensure that we have the appropriate structures in place.

We have held several successful meetings with various MLA’s and Health Ministers to raise our concerns.

Through our lobbying we have ensured that Suicide Prevention for Northern Ireland remains focused aspects most important to us as bereaved families / individuals.
